Articles of Confederation- Because the states opposed against Britain, the delegates in the Second Continental Congress argued about the type of government they should have. The colonists feared a strong central government and could not decide on the amount of representatives each state should have. The Second Continental Congress thought up the Articles of Confederation. This sated that each state would get 1 vote and that there would be no executive or judicial branches. Congress was given power to declare war, make treaties with foreign countries and work out trade between states. At first the sates did not want this, but in end they had to agree in order for them to win the war.
How many representatives do you think we should have?
I think that it should be based on the population of the state.
