Ad Hominem or not? by DWH on 04-26-2010
I think insulting people rocks. It shoule be done with panache and wit and should not be mean or personal. I don't think a good argument has reached a level of status until you've called each other one or two good names.
I hope he means names like puddingcake or darling...but somehow I don't think so...
Example: my Italian father and my Russian mother would fight like cats and dogs...he'd say, "Why you big-assed, big-mouth, small boobed, pain-in-the-ass Russian b#tch"...and go on from there for at least a solid minute or two, without missing a beat.
Oh my, I don't remember my parents ever raising their voices to each other...poor Gary...
These ARE attacked on their character, or some aspect of "the individual" which is not addressed by "debate" normally, which is why I used "meta" in my original proposition. Now, did this help explain in a way that can get through your thick left wing Russian Italian head?
hahaha...thanks for the explanation but yer still a self-absorbed, narcissistic, know-it-all, who thinks he's WAY smarter than everyone else but you are WRONG mister, because you are a JERK!
