 | Absolutely not. I would know this. For one, the parents wouldn't let their children come over to my home and play with my children. My family is Christian and the other families are Jewish. We all understand this and each other's beliefs so there is no pressue for my family to hide our customs or change to become Jewish. | |

| But possibly this isn't true for all people who move into a community which is heavily dedicated to one religion, while the family moving in is dedicated to another. Such families do cover their beliefs. They do no flaunt them for fear of being singled out and harassed. Many families, and people for this matter, do end up getting discriminated against because their beliefs are against the grain in a certain area. | |

| I don't deny such situations happen. Yet, I feel as though those situations can be dissolved by talking and communicating. I'm sure if the families in my community didn't talk or try to communicate to me, covering up maybe would have been an option. I wouldn't want to bring any more negative attention to my family. | |

| Yes. Positive actions lead to people being comfortable with their own beliefs and expressing them to others. Negative actions lead to covering up. Why would someone demostrate their beliefs if people disrespect others with the same beliefs or if that person is already singled out for his or her beliefs? Religion is a huge factor of covering. Yet, through understanding, experience, and positive actions, it can be avoided. | |

| Well, I see what your saying. I agree that through understanding, experience, and positive actions, covering and assimilation become unnecessary. The problem though, is breaking that first negative, initial reaction of someone who believes differently. If society could make those reactions positive, or atleast neutral, then covering and assimilation would heavily decrease. | |
