The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe Part 8 by samalam1997 on 09-28-2009
The sound became louder and I talked faster and louder to keep it away. The men carried on in the conversation and I was sure they thought it funny to torture me like this.
Yeah. I loved the old man. Did I say that already? I hope not. He also left the country. Wait-
So, do you know what country the man is in now?
I began to get furious. I cursed and screamed. The noise made my ears throb as it got louder. The men kept smiling and kept the conversation on.
UHHH! This place is a dump! I wish I went with the man to whereever he went!
I'm sure that's the case. Are you sure you're fine?
The heart beat got louder and louder and LOUDER! I thought there could be no worse punishment than to deal with this heartbeat in my ears so I slammed down my chair and screamed-
"Villains! Dissemble no more! I admit the deed! Tear up the planks! Here, here! It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
*taken aback*
