Progress in Aeronautics? by Pick_a_username on 12-26-2008
Hey, listen to this mini history... Close to 500 years ago, Leonardo da Vinci designed a light hang glider that has been successfully constructed and demonstrated since then.
He was truly a maverick in so many ways! The Wright Brothers owe him like there's no tomorrow!
It was 225 years ago that two men became the first aeronauts in an untethered balloon when they travelled over Paris, France to its suburbs for about a 5.5 mile trip.
Give those men props! If God had intended for people to stay on the ground, he would have given us suction cups on our hands and feet, and made the dirt prettier to look at, now that I mention it.
In this year, 2008, with years of formal education and specialized training among them, astronauts lost an expensive bag of tools because it was not tethered during their spacewalk.
What kind of CLOWNS are we sending up there!? First the whacked-out astronaut woman in diapers, and now this? Scotty, beam me down your ashes! You're not safe up there!
