I signed the petition. I don't get why this keeps being turned down. They seem to just give them away to anyone else, but in the one rare case when it would actually mean something, it takes years of campaigning only to end up being rejected. Chimpanzees are SO close to being human, more so than at least half the regulars on wittycomics, and no one in the media seems to want to call any attention to the fact that they're all about to die off.
