Hey I was wondering if you could help me out in setting a goal for my health in the long run.
Yeah sure, first you need to know the five strategies of goal setting which are "It must be on your terms" (Health Book, 2.4). The second one is "Connect goals to the ultimate currency: happiness!" (Health Book, 2.4). Third is "Frame your life" (Health Book, 2.4). Fourth is "Dream big, but start small" (Health Book, 2.4). Last one is "Take stock along the way" (Health Book, 2.4).
Can you please explain those to me please?
Sure. So with the first one what it's saying is that these are your goals no one elses. Second one means that these goals have to make you happy so you have to feel great about them. Third one is saying take a step back and evaluate your life, so take into consideration things like family, fiath, freinds, proffesion, and things like that. Fourth is saying don't try to start too big and then get uncouraged due to the fact that you aren't reaching your goals soon enough or so. Last one is saying don't stress too much about your goals to the point where you start feeling depressed of break down mentally.
Oh okay thank you, so can you help me set a goal for weight loss and so that I can keep the weight off and not gain it back in the future?
Yeah, okay so first you need to be aware that loosing weight is your goal not no one elses so don't be making excuses that include other people that won't allow you to reach your goal. Keep in mind that loosing all this weight will make you very happy in the end and you have to enjoy the adventure of loosing weight. Take into consideration how this could benefit you in some scenarios in your life where you may not be doing so good right now. Make sure you don't start you goal too high because if you end up not reaching you will just get un motivated, so take little steps. Last don't stress too much about you goal. Yeah care about it a lot but don't get anxiety due to it or get depressed because then you are just hurting yourself.
