Rockefeller was the first to see the importance of oil and how it would benefit America. He invested a large portion of his own savings into petroleum. Rockefeller gained so much control that he was able to fix the prices to his liking and rid competitors. |

Carnegie started out working with railroads and with that he noticed steel played a big part of building railroads. He fopunded his first steel company in Pittsburg and became successful making a vast amount of it and selling it for railroads, steam locomotives, bridges, and manufacturing machines. |
