Liu Bang vs Wudi by rtmathia on 03-04-2018
Meeting for First Time
Hello Wudi. I’m Liu Bang, and I was born in 248 BC. I worked as a police officer during the Qin dynasty. I was a rebel leader, and I controlled part of Western China. Later, Hsiang Yu commited suicide. After that, I decided to stop ruling China after 7 years.
Oh, hi Liu. Let me introduce myself. I’m Wudi. I was born in 156 BC. I began my reign as emperor of the Han dynasty in 141 BC. My destiny was decided for me when I was seven, by my relatives. I was in position for the throne already! 46 years later, I stopped ruling.
Discussing Politics & Religion
I revived feudalism, and replaced original vassals with my own relatives. I also got rid of harsh laws. I reduced taxes on peasants. What did you do during your 46 year reign?
I strongly believed in Confucianism, but I didn’t practice it. Instead, I made it a state religion of China. I had to pass a test based on the teaching of Confucius to work for the government.
Arguing Who Was More Successful
I think I accomplished more than you! I revived feudalism in China, I gave my relatives many regional kingdoms that were controlled by a central government, and I made peace with tribes trying to invade China. I also eliminated harsh laws, and reduced taxes on the peasants. I bet you can’t top that Wudi!
No, I accomplished so much more than you! I ruled many areas of Asia, I added new taxes, and controlled trade of salt, wine and iron. I founded a university to teach Confucius teachings too. Clearly I’m much better!
