Ah, Mr. Gilmore, glad to see I'm not the only one still sober at this party. Everyone else seems to be drinking (copiously). You heard correct. Everyone else found him too daunting to stand up to, but I could not sit idly by.
He had a very (cordial) conversation with my daughter and he almost had me fooled, so I was very glad to hear that someone was (decrying) his (contrived) aims.
I was told that the comity is thinking about (curtailing) his membership, but I doubt it will work out. He's good at using money to (deter) their plans.
