16th-18th Century
Trade in and out of colonies are strictly controlled by the European governments. So that their imports were less than their exports.
Raw materials are shipped from the colonies to the countries. That is where the products are made. When the products are finished, they are shipped back to the colonies where they are sold.
18th-19th Century
Many people are unhappy with the strict control over trade. And the dissatisfaction led to wars throughout the colonies, leading to America becoming an independent cpu
