Voting Formally in a Federal Election by ClancyG on 03-23-2013
By any chance do you know how to vote formally in a federal election?
Yes I do. First things first you need to enrol to vote. To do this you have to be at least 18 years of age.
What next?
Then you have to wait for a federal election to be held. When an election is held you receive two ballot papers. Ballot papers are pieces of paper where you record your votes. There is a green ballot paper for the House of Representatives and a white one for the Senate. With the green paper you have to number all the boxes always remembering to put a 1 in the box for your number one choice. With the white paper you can vote above or below the line. If you vote above the line you just put a 1 next to the party you want. But if you vote below the line you have to number all the boxes from your 1st choice to your last choice.
Is that it?
Yeah pretty much! But make sure you follow the rules or your vote will be informal and not get counted. Now go and GET VOTING!!!!
