| By any chance do you know how to vote formally in a federal election? | |
| Yes I do. First things first you need to enrol to vote. To do this you have to be at least 18 years of age. | |

| What next? | |
| Then you have to wait for a federal election to be held. When an election is held you receive two ballot papers. Ballot papers are pieces of paper where you record your votes. There is a green ballot paper for the House of Representatives and a white one for the Senate. With the green paper you have to number all the boxes always remembering to put a 1 in the box for your number one choice. With the white paper you can vote above or below the line. If you vote above the line you just put a 1 next to the party you want. But if you vote below the line you have to number all the boxes from your 1st choice to your last choice. | |
