So water isn't an element? How do the different atoms in water combine?
They don't combine, they attatch to each other through their electrons.
What do you mean?
Compunds are made from one of the two bonds: ionic bonds and covalent bonds.
How do the bonds form?
Ionic bonds form when electrons are transferred from one atom to another. Covalent bonds are formed when atoms share electrons.
