Also it may be hard to join with the maritimes and not join with Canada West because the Maritimes are probably going to join with the west. It wouldn't help the economy at all either.
Okay so now we have 3 options left. Join, dont join, and join the U.S. What about joining with the U.S.? What would that do to the colony of Canada East?
Well I think that would anger the other colonies because if Canada East joined the U.S. then the other colonies would be completely cut off from Canada West.
Ya, and that would probably start a war. Although they would be joined with a country with a very powerful army and it would allow us to gain new industries such as fishing, lumber, and farming.
Yes but we have to consider transportation. It would be very difficult to transport the goods all the way from the U.S., over the St. Lawrence river and finally over all the smaller rivers in Canada East.
They would also have to give up their government to the U.S. They most likely would not like that.
