Beef Problem by MLPDC on 07-11-2009
Hey. Good morning. I've been looking for you. I would just like to ask something.
Hey girl, good morning too. What is it?
How many pounds of beef worth $2.50 per pound should be placed together with 140 lb worth $3.50 per pound in order to get a beef that can be sold at $3.20 per pound?
Oh. It's easy. Let's put it this way. Let x be the number of pounds. Then multiply 140 and 3.50 to both sides of the equation. Which is 2.50x + 490 = 3.20x + 448. Solve for x. The answer is 60. Then that's it.
WOW! You're so good. Thank you very much!
Sure, no problem. Just try to study Linear Equations. It's very applicable in our life.
