Cell Division For Dummies by ugepong1 on 04-01-2009
A Day in The Life of A Scientifically challenged Camera-man that Looks Like Adam Sandler
So Professor, Just how does a cell divide?
Well, First of all, it happens in cycles. These include Interphase, Mitosis, and Cytokinesis.
Doesn't the Professor Look Like A Black Colonel Sanders
Alright, so whats Interphase?
Well, Its somewhat like the first weeks of a divorce. The cell starts duplicating all its posessions (organelles). This stage is called G1. Synthesis is what follows G1. All the DNA is replicated. After Synthesis is G2. The cell bascially looks over everything and makes sure everything was duplicated correctly, Like a lawyer looking over divorc papers.
Wow....They Went From Britain to Rome in .67 slides flat.
Wow! That's a lot.
Well there is actually more! Next is a phase called Mitosis. There are four sub-cycles.First is Prophase. In Prophase, the sister chromatids condense and the nucleus memberane breaks down. This will allow the cell to split cleanly, without harming the mother cell.
