Radicals and Complex Numbers #2 by MathText on 03-01-2008
Ok, Radicals are numbers, formatted into an equation, that help solve complex ideas. These radicals, which need to be simplified, follow three rules. Can you guess what they are?
Hmm... A radicand can't have a perfect square number other than one, can't contain a fraction and there shouldn't be a radical in the denominator?
Wow.. text book answer- it almost seems like you have had this conversation before. How did you know that?
I read the textbook earlier...
Right, so that means you know all about this- care to expand?
Well, using radicals, you can also find the minimum or maximum of a quadratic function, using three processes- Completing the square, using the quadratic forumula and factoring- and all of them, except for factoring, will always work to help you find the point needed for the X-intercept.
