| Uh-huh. The lymphatic organs, as I recall, are sites of lymphocyte production and immune responses. | |

| The lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped organs arranged in groups along lymphatic vessels. They filter and cleanse lymph and destroy pathogens carried by lymph. | |

| Tonsils are masses of lymphatic tissue at the entrance to the throat. They intercept and destroy pathogens entering throat from nasal and oral cavities. | |

| There are three kinds: the palatine tonsils located on each side at the junction of the oral caviy and the pharynx. The pharyngeal tonsil is located on the back wall of the nasal cavity. | |
