Life with Jo and John Ray by Dhea on 09-24-2007
Did you ever wonder what Jo and John Ray will talk about if they were married? Me too and this is pretty much how I imagined it to be.
Do you remember when we were in college and Sir Lunar talked about the lymphatic organs?
Uh-huh. The lymphatic organs, as I recall, are sites of lymphocyte production and immune responses.
Yup. they are the lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen and thymus.
The lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped organs arranged in groups along lymphatic vessels. They filter and cleanse lymph and destroy pathogens carried by lymph.
Tonsils are masses of lymphatic tissue at the entrance to the throat. They intercept and destroy pathogens entering throat from nasal and oral cavities.
There are three kinds: the palatine tonsils located on each side at the junction of the oral caviy and the pharynx. The pharyngeal tonsil is located on the back wall of the nasal cavity.
