Vocabulary: A Comic (Revised) - Elias Kemp by Elias_Kemp on 09-13-2019
Shooting for a movie in the Alps, a photographer, and the famous actor, Sue Doe, converse about the film.
Ma'am, you are such a wonderful actor! In fact, I think you are so good, you don't need your script!
Photographer, stop trying to (cajole) me into not using my script. You have no idea how hard memorizing lines is.
The photographer was determined to remain (benign), despite the necessity that Ms. Doe put away her script. It took quite an effort not to get mad.
Ma'am, you know the rules of film. "An actor is not to be seen with a script during any scene of the film unless it is a prop." By using your script when we are shooting, you are (brazenly) disobeying the rules! I say this in all respect, of course.
You are right. I choose to use my script. Please stop bothering me, now.
Frustrated out of his mind, the photographer storms off to speak with his boss, famous movie director Clint Southwood.
Sir, Ms. Doe is being very (belligerent). She won't obey the standard rules of film, and she wants to use her script on the set!
Honestly, if there is anyone being (cantankerous) here, it is you. You won't accept her style of acting. We think it might take off. It shortens the number of takes necessary by quite a few. Stop being so stubborn, and let her act the way she wants to act.
