Tips for collaborating with families & Community members |
|
 | First, make a resource booklet in which you collect information about the skills and expertise of parents and acquaintances. Take advantage of email when finding and making connections with people. Find out what local colleges and universities have a service learning office. Use these offices to get connected with people who will give their time in exchange for college credit. | |

 | Good ideas. Thanks so much for all of these suggestions. I'll make sure to meet with my guests in advance to address the specific needs of my students. I will also give my students information about the presentation beforehand so that they can get the most out of it. My students will always make my guests feel welcome and write them a thank you note afterward. I want to make sure the people in my community know that my students appreciate the time and effort they put forth. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk this through with me. | |
