George and Nancy chat after a business meeting. |
| Nancy, you wouldn't even believe how (callous) the new boss is. | |
| Why do you think she's heartless George? | |
George complains about their new boss, Sara. Nancy though, admires Sara. |
| "Well for one, she's (candid). She's been telling everyone that their work isn't "loud" enough, including me! Plus she's (cantankerous), don't you think? | |
| Well, I guess Sara can be rather blunt. Actually though, I think she's pretty (brazen). She isn't afraid to push the board directors in the direction she wants to go. I mean, our rates have tripled in the last five months thanks to her. | |
Nancy laughs as George explains how Sara turned down his invitation to dinner. |
| I guess. Sure our rates have gone up, but that doesn't make her any sweeter. I complete all my articles on time, and she's still unsatisfied! She even denied my strictly business dinner conference I invited her too. She told me, "Been there, done that." | |
| Oh George is that what this is about? You couldn't (cajole) her into going to dinner with you? Haha, I'm sure you told her it was just a "strictly business" dinner, but you can't expect us to be that dumb. If you think she's pretty George, just tell her. But don't forget, she's still our boss. | |
