Oedipus Scene 3 by sirofficerpug on 10-16-2017
Creon! My friend, what news have you brought back from the gods? Why is our city being weighed down with misfortune?
Laius was a murdered man. And now clearly is required the just blood of his assassins.
Oh where can one begin to search the long-lost traces of forgotten crime?
Ask Tiresias the prophet! He claims to have information.
Great Tiresias, though you cannot see it you must surely feel the overwhelming weight of all this city's woes. I have come to you seeking guidance in finding the Laius' murderers and avenging him.
Please send me home. Take up your load and I'll take mine. Believe me, it is better so.
