Plato Tries to Understand September 11 by ldc803 on 10-07-2017
Plato is talking to an American woman after 9/11.
Help me to understand why 9/11 happened.
Well, Plato, there aren't really any easy answers to that questions.
Plato really tries to get the woman to think about 9/11.
Plato, I want to understand, but it's just not easy to talk about.
Don't but you see..."philosophy begins in wonder." Don't you wonder what happened? Don't you wonder why it happened? Don't you wonder why so many lives were lost?
The woman starts to consider some of Plato's questions.
It's simple young lady. The government owes you answers. As my great teacher, Socrates, taught me, "There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance."
Well, I guess I do wonder why so many lives were lost. It just seemed so senseless. But how do I begin to get those questions answered? Who do I ask? Won't I get myself in trouble with the government?
