 | Pull charging handle assembly rearward, lock bolt, and release charging handle. Place selector lever on SAFE. | |

| Pull charging handle assembly rearward and check to see that chamber is clear, Release charging handle assembly. | |

| Push upward on cartridge magazine until magazine catch engages and holds cartridge magazine. Tap upward to make sure cadridge magazine is seated correctly. | |
