2.4 Formulating a Plan by Yasminecrow19 on 01-30-2017
It must be on your terms
“The most important thing to remember is that these are your goals, not your parent’s, your teacher’s, or anyone else’s.” (Page 11).
Agreed!! With my mom she was going to become a doctor for what her parents wished, but while in med schools she went back and became a teacher because that was the goal she deep down wanted to do, and makes her happy.
Frame your life
“Make sure to consider all of these areas as you think about and plan for the future, so you can set goals that will provide the greatest benefit to them. ” (Page 12).
Considered. I know thinking about priorities in my life with my family and friends helps me achieve my goals. Knowing how to keep up balance between everyone and advice pushes me to accomplish work in and outside of school!
Taking stock along the way
“With this awareness in mind, try to intertwine the process of goal setting with an ongoing habit of recognizing existing successes and accomplishments. ” (Page 13).
In my life, I know I'll get anxious thinking 1 specific goal will bring me happiness and I always like to look back and recognize and feel proud of my previous successes in school with grades. It makes me feel happy and helps me pursue new goals with a positive non- rush attitude!!
