| After trying to get a teaching job in New York for a year, I decided to look for teaching jobs in Naples, FL. My extended family lived there, so at least I knew someone. After applying to Collier County and Lee County schools, I did eight Skype interviews in two weeks during the last two weeks of July of 2013. I received two job offers on the same day. I picked the high school teaching position, and left New York two days later to stay with family and start my new life. |

| I started teaching 10th grade English. It turned out that my students weren't entirely interested in literary analysis. They were more interested in seeing me meet their math teacher and tennis coach from last year. So, after harrassing both of us for a month, we dicded to meet and play tennis. (It didn't help that the kids stared at us while we played tennis for the first time together...) We started with just being friends, and then realized that our relationship had potential for more. |

| We dated for two years and Chris asked me to marry him. The students were thrilled. They were seniors by now...seniors who could drive... A few of them decided to skip school and crash the wedding ceremony. We weren't happy that they skipped school, but we were over-joyed to see them. They were very respectful wedding crashers. My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary a few months ago, and our students still visit us during their college breaks. |
