Important People in Spanish Colonial Texas by vzavala on 01-25-2017
Damian Massanet
Father, what do you think is preventing the Native Americans from coming to the Mission San Francisco de la Tejas?
For starters, I don't have the funding to upkeep this mission. Also, it turns out that the natives do not really want to convert. I helped build this sweet mission, but they Tejas indians are not interested.
Jose de Escondon
Gracias senor Escondon. Thank you for establishing so many towns and missions in the Rio Grande Valley. The place has really grown under your leadership.
Occupation: Military commander for Spain, known as the Father of the Rio Grande Valley.
Father Francisco Hidalgo
Sonny, I'm the priest at this here Mission San Francisco de las Tejas. I am also working with the French to help bring Jesus to the Tejas indians.
So...what is it that you actually do here?
