Cat and John: Do Simple Present Part 1 by DanielNieto2004 on 12-14-2016
And how do you form the present tense?
We form the present tense using the base form of the infinitive (without the “to”).
And does it depend if your speaking in first, second or third person?
Yes, well in general, in the third person’s singular we add “s” or “es” to the verb. But with the first, second and third plural it stays like the infinitive verb (without the “to”)
What’s the spelling for the verbs in singular third person?
The spelling for the verb in the third person differs depending on the ending of that verb: For verbs that end in “o”, “ch”, “sh”, “ss”, “x”, or “z” we add them “es”. For verbs that end in a consonant and plus “y”, we remove the “y” and add “ies”. For verbs that end in a vowel plus “y”, we just add “s”.
