21 signs of 21st-century teachers by Vargasangie on 09-06-2016
Hello, Robert, I have something really interesting to share with you! Yesterday I went to an interesting conference called "21 Signs of 21st Century teacher". And talked about some important characteristics that teachers must have in this new century in order to innovate and teach in a new way. Do you like to know what this signs of a 21st-century teacher are?
Hi, Bella, of course, I had read something about that, but I had not the opportunity to go there, but of course tell me about it.
Really, ok, I will ask you some questions and you will tell me if you do this kind of things in order to know if you are a 21st-century teacher. Ok? You require your students to use a variety of sources for their research projects...such as cite blogs, podcasts, and interviews they’ve conducted via Skype. Or your students work on collaborative projects using technology tools, or maybe you ask your students to study and create reports on a controversial topic...and you grade their video submission?
Amm, ok, I try to use some things and teach through technology, but sincerely not all of these things that you already mention, but I'm going to put it in practice I think that it's important to use this kind of resources and tools to encourage the students to improve their skills. And of course our technological skills too. What another kind of signs was mention on the conference? It is really interesting.
Hehehe, yes I know this kind of signs make you reflect on your profession and improve it through the technology. Ok, I remember other signs like a shared lesson plan with your teacher friends, realize the importance of professional development...and you read blogs, join online communities, and tweet for self-development, teach to your students not to be bullies...or cyber bullies and so on.
Oh, sounds great, do you know if maybe in another opportunity will make more conferences about different topics related with that? I consider that this kind of information is really useful and important to the new generation of teachers.
