Julie, you've looked into DS106. What can you tell us about it?
DS106 is a so called cMOOC. The c stands for connectivist Skip. These MOOCs are typically funded by universities and encourage learners to contribute actively. They are more open, flexible, and can provide a more learner-centered experience. Interestingly, they tend to have less formal assessment.
DS106 is an open digital storytelling course Skip. Students have daily creative challenges that they share via social media. They can choose which assignments and challenges appeal to them. The course website describes it as "part storytelling workshop, part technology training, and most importantly, part critical interrogation of the digital landscape that is ever increasingly mediating how we communicate with one another."
